Helping Everyone Involved

When a student is struggling academically, the whole family is affected. As a student’s academic tutor or executive functioning coach, my goal is not only to help the individual student thrive, but also to support the entire community around that student.

What I Offer

Academic Tutoring- Elementary and Middle School Students:

Reading, Writing and Mathematics

Through regularly scheduled sessions, K-8 students change the negative narratives they believe about themselves as learners, embrace a growth mindset and redefine their relationship to learning. Students are not only empowered to earn higher grades, but also emerge as confident, resilient learners who are ready to take on any challenge!

Advanced Placement Tutoring- High School Students:

AP Spanish and history courses

Over the course of the school year, students prepare to pass their AP exams in May and June. Together, we focus on effective strategies for the multiple choice, short answer, long essay and oral components of each respective exam. These skills and habits set students up for success in college courses and beyond.

K-12 Executive Functioning Coaching:

With my support, students discover their learning style and develop a wide range of sustainable skills including digital and phsyical organizational skills, time management, short-term and long-term goal setting and contextualized study skills. Students gradually take ownership over their learning by communicating with their teachers independently and advocating for their needs in and outside of the classroom.

What People Say About Me

As an educator with over twenty years of experience, I have very high standards.  When my son began struggling with the expectations of his middle school curriculum, I wanted to find a coach for him who would challenge him to grow and could help unlock his potential.  Ms. Haskins has done just that, using a strengths-based approach that has provided him with study skills, meta-cognitive strategies, and organizational tools that he will use not only in his future academic pursuits but in all aspects of life.”

“Cooper is such an amazing teacher, we were lucky enough to find her when our daughter's school became remote during the pandemic. She was such a gift to our family during a very challenging time. Cooper helped get our daughter back on track academically with so many fun games and interesting activities. Cooper's love for education and children was apparent in her time with our daughter from the beginning, and we are so grateful to have been able to work with her!”

- Morgan, parent of a 3rd grade student
