What the CH Tutoring Community Says

Cooper has transformed not only my son's life, but our entire family.  She has an amazing ability to be firm, have high standards, while being 100% supportive of my son.  She has systematically built trust with my son, meeting him at his level and openly hearing his perspectives at every juncture, so that he could finally feel like someone in his academic world truly supported him no matter what.  This has been totally transformative for him.  When we hit roadblocks - and there have been some big ones - Cooper always has had significant and actionable insights to support our child's learning and to help him thrive.  We are truly grateful for being able to work with Cooper as a family.

Our family has been working with Cooper for over a year, and the impact has been truly transformative. Not only have we seen a tremendous improvement in our daughter’s grades, but the positive change in our family dynamic has been just as meaningful.

There is far less stress in our household, and we no longer feel constant worry that assignments or responsibilities will be missed. Our daughter has developed stronger independence, organization, and accountability, which has allowed us as parents to step back. We no longer feel the need to hound her or regularly check grades and assignments—something we never thought would be possible.

Another aspect we deeply appreciate is Cooper’s follow-up after each tutoring session. Her summaries are incredibly clear, detailed, and genuinely helpful in understanding exactly what was worked on and how we can effectively support our daughter at home with homework, test preparation, and ongoing skill development.

The confidence and skills our daughter has gained extend well beyond academics, and the peace of mind this has brought to our family is invaluable. We have recommended Cooper to multiple friends, all of whom have had equally positive, rave experiences. We are incredibly grateful for the guidance, consistency, and support Cooper provides and would highly recommend her to any family looking to support their child’s growth while restoring balance and trust at home.

We have seen so much difference in our son’s approach to schoolwork and confidence since we started working with Cooper. We began our journey with her at the beginning of High School, working with him on his organizational skills and teaching him how to break down homework assignments and track his own progress and due dates. Throughout the years, she has also helped with both reading and writing skills, making him feel more confident in his abilities and less anxious about challenging assignments. This year, we engaged with Cooper to tackle college essays and applications. I can honestly say we would not have made it through this process without her. Cooper’s approach, strategies and sessions with our son are always very personalized with her being able to focus on specific weaknesses and strengths. She brought such energy and positivity to every session which made for a strong, trusting relationship not only with him but with us as well. We feel very fortunate to have found Cooper and because of her, we are confident in our son’s future. We think her people and teaching skills are amazing, and we think the world of her!

When my son was newly diagnosed with ADHD after falling grades in middle school, I knew that he would need help with developing skills for executive functioning as well as help on how to study and complete assignments. Cooper was recommended, and she changed our son's life. He went from failing grades to A's and B's and developed habits that helped him remember what to do and how to keep focused when needed. I can't say enough about how amazing Cooper is as a teacher and mentor. She has worked with my son for several years, and he's now in high school, thriving and doing well academically. He was just selected as a nominee for Governor's School for Durham Public Schools. I recommend Cooper to anyone who has a child struggling with ADHD. She helps unlock capabilities that might otherwise never open. There's no one better than Cooper for encouragement and tutoring! I feel so lucky we found her at the right time.

My high school freshman struggled with executive functioning, especially when it comes to school. Working with Cooper has made a huge difference in their grades and their approach to school work. Cooper provides coaching in a style that is caring and flexible, but still focused on achieving the student's goals

We’ve worked with many tutors over the years, but Cooper is the only one who truly took the time to connect with my son. After working with her on a summer book study, he actually asked to continue sessions during the school year — something we never thought would happen! Cooper has a rare ability to make learning engaging and personal. There’s something genuinely special about working with her, and both your child and your family will love the experience and the results.

Cooper approaches each student's unique needs for learning with kindness, patience, fun and positivity. She has given our daughter so much confidence in her abilities by finding creative strategies for learning that draw on her unique strengths. We appreciate Cooper’s organization and regular feedback on each session, her strong advocacy for her student's needs, and her ability to help each individual understand how they learn best. We are incredibly grateful for her!

My ASD/ADHD son has been working with Cooper as his “math therapist” (as he lovingly refers to her) and the growth we have seen is nothing short of incredible. In 6 short weeks time, his Star Math standardized test scores went from the 38th percentile (need for intensive intervention) to the 82nd percentile (at/above benchmark) - we were blown away! But just as exciting, we have seen his confidence grow tremendously. The fact that he never complains about coming to his tutoring sessions with Cooper says it all - she is the best!!

What sets Cooper apart is her ability to form genuine, respectful relationships with adolescents. She understands teens, communicates effectively, and motivates students through connection, patience, and trust. During our partnership with Cooper, my son developed a narrative for his strengths as a learner that he continues to rely on today. That was HUGE for him. Not to mention, something I could never put a price tag on!

Cooper showed genuine empathy and understanding for our child from the very beginning, forming a trusting relationship that made a lasting impact. With Cooper’s guidance, our child gained a much stronger grasp of key concepts and grew in confidence as a learner. Cooper is truly transformative and will help cement a love of lifelong learning and curiosity in your student.

When I think of the help Cooper offers me, I especially think that it is not judgmental and understanding too. And I find the conversations calming and pleasant. I can imagine that this is very nice for younger and older people! The products we made together connected well, and I'm still trying to follow them.

Cooper Haskins began working with me when I was in fifth grade, at a time when I needed serious help with time management, keeping up with assignments, and understanding material I struggled to grasp in class. I was completely overwhelmed by my workload and felt lost academically. After only a few sessions with Cooper, I was already doing significantly better and keeping up with my schoolwork and assignments. She truly pulled me out of a hole I never thought I could escape. Cooper continued working with me on and off over the next year or two, and we grew so close that we still spend time together every once in a while outside of sessions. She was truly amazing and helped me through so many difficult moments. I honestly cannot thank her enough. She is incredibly kind, consistently positive, and endlessly encouraging. Cooper has a unique way of making work feel fun and engaging, and she taught me so much, both academically and personally. I am beyond grateful to have her in my life.

Cooper is my go-to resource for Executive Functioning tutoring in the Triangle area. She completely understands the realities of what it takes to build executive functioning skills for each student.  She prizes establishing rapport with students, a key element in ensuring cooperation, and is very well versed in the variability of organizational methods needed for each kind of learner.
